Oh for those Cape Town beaches!!

We dropped off at the beach on the way home and got this huge mud flat instead. Grey, rocky dirt for sand. No lapping waves, just ankle deep, tepid, mossy brine. No lithe, bikini clad nubile babes, just fat, frumpy middle aged men displaying builder's cracks. Hopefully Australia will provide better fare than this!

Definitely not up to Plet or Wilderness standard! I would not even be slightly tempted to get even my toes wet.

Pretty miserable isn't it. Perhaps it improves slightly with higher tide. There was a big trailor camping site by this beach - and families come here year after year for their summer holidays, not knowing how deprived they are for real beaches. We are very lucky to have grown up on the beaches we did.

At least there seems to have been some sand. The 'beach' that I was taken to was made of pebbles. Walking wihtout shoes on was miserable. R.
