Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013

I went to this exhibition with Sue. It was breathtaking.  So much wonder and beauty in the world.  And so much of it under threat. Some of the photographers suffered big time for their photos.  The guy who got the photo of the flying bat spent weeks waist deep in water.  But, wow, was it worth it!

The guy who took the photo of the first two photos is a Canadian named Paul Nicklen.  He is my new hero.  Check out a stupendous presentation of his here - it'll blow you away.

 

This photo totally broke my heart.  The little kids had recently captured this baboon.  We humans are clearly not the only ones to experience terror and distress.
