Jo goes paragliding

Inspired by my paragliding adventure, Jo went up today.  It was a birthday present from the kids.  Jo enjoyed it, but had a couple of wobbly moments where she flipped out a bit, and said she was very glad to be back on the ground.

Paragliding off Signal Hill over Sea Point

Russell's dad treated Russell to a paragliding adventure of Signal Hill and he persuaded me (not hard!) to do it with him.  I'd done it before in Turkey and loved it.

When we arrived at the top of the hill, the wind was really strong and I became very nervous, almost opting not to do it. Jo, Kobus and Derek provided lots of moral support.

Then the wind died down a bit, and with my heart beating fast, decided to take the plunge.  Take off was very eventful (we ran into a thorn tree!) but once we were up, my anxiety vanished and exhilaration took over.  A feeling of intense freedom with the gorgeous vista of the sea below and the mountain behind us.  An unforgettable experience.
